We use HEMS anodizers for our ally work, i can't get any details for them
until i return to work next week (On holiday at mo) but they are the best i've come across for even finish etc.
You may need to settle for whatever red they have in there tank at the time
though, we send a colour sample and they make the colour for us, and so
we send the largest batch possible to make the cost worthwhile, a few bits
will be expensive if you want a specific red, so you may just have to go with
whatever they red they are anodizing when you send your parts in. If you see what i mean.

how would a t-series inlet manifold (top half) come out ?
it's been sandblasted, but is not a smooth surface from casting.

does anodising work well on that as well ?

If the surface is not clean, then it would probably be acid dipped first, this is
true certainly for electro plating, but i would have to ask the guys at HEMS
first as its not the most common plate finish we do, i certainly dont mind putting
your question across on monday if you like and feedback what they say for you.

Lee..
Ok..
If you ask Greg to Get HEMS anodizers addy and phone number from Match-IT
and just double check the contact name is Mac. If you scribble it down and email the number i'll give them a buzz.

Grant / G

Just to check first.. Is this part Ally or Ally alloy ? (Incase he asks)

talking about. Top section of the inlet manifold ? or are there other pieces
too ?
Let me know what you have and i'll do the call.

i'm after inlet manifold being anodised if it can be.

Preferably top and bottom.

probably in silver or blue.
ideally bottom in silver, top half in blue, but like you say, it's whatever they have in the tank to make it cheap.

I'm not convinced it'll come out well though as even though it's shotblasted, its not a smooth surface, and it would look turd anodised if it's rough, so i don't know how the process works.

don't know which bits grant was thinking of though.

cheers

I'm thinking of an airbox, turbo heatshield and top part of inlet manifold (plenum).
All in red.

Right.. At last got in touch with the guy i needed..

Ally Alloy parts (castings) can be anodised, they infact used to do automotive parts, the only
problem is colour wont take, only the silver finishes. If its shotblasted it
will take but it will appear Dull.

Other Ally parts (grant) no problem can give his number if any of you two want it.
