2nd Annual MG-Rover Euro Meeting @ Nürburgring

Post by sillytc »

Hi all, well its happening...
we have contacted a few clubs in Europe as well
Its the weekend around June 14-19th, you can pick your arrival date and departure date, we will probably leave thursday, and come back monday so more flexibility, please do not reply to this thread apart from adding your name there will be more info as and when, ps if you do not wish to take your own car you can car share so it brings the price down......
bit of info
Prices are a round this, I will do more digging soon, this is from another a site, I can do a lot cheaper.

Channel crossing: Varies, but say typically £120
******I can get for £62 return ********
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Petrol en-route: Typically 2 x £60 = £120
******£100*********
____________________________________________________________
Petrol for the Ring: Say £90
I am only doing a couple of laps so £30 max..
________________________________________________________
Bed-and-breakfast per person: £25 per night x 2 = £50
we are camping so £10 anight plus bbq and beer food, so say 10-15 anight, there's normally food every where and tons of beer

___________________________________________________________

Food: 2 x dinner, 2 x lunch, food en-route, beer = £100
take samdwichess..
£10
______________________________________________________
25-lap ticket = £232
we pay
laps cost euro, pound you pay
Single lap €19 £12.79 £12.79
4-lap ticket €64 £43 £10.75

Total there price approx £700
our price £268, if you share then its half again, so £134 for two, again less for three..
LINK FOR ALL INFO, GIVE YOU A GOOD IDEA OF WHAT TO EXPECT

http://nurburgring.org.uk/

only if you want to go..there will be a seperate thread to chat about this...
plus here's a typical route, tom pinny to the ring
Link of road map

So far we have 15 UK attends and 5 NL/BE attends.... And we are only a week busy with the meeting!!! Last year we did Croix in France and that was a blast. Hope to make it even better this year with even more MG-Rovers of all types. Arrive on friday, leave on sunday. Between will be, driving at the Ring, BBQ at campsite next to yr car and tent. Location of campsite will be annouced soon but will be near the ring and near shopping area for the BBq... :)

For questions please go to our discussion topic about the Euro Meet. U may need to logon or subscribe... Or u can e-mail or PM me.

Cheers, Silly TC and Monster Hunter an co organisers... Hope to see u in Germany!!

Definately interested in this. Always wanted to visit the ring and the prospect of doing so with fellow MG-R owners certainly does appeal.

Hoping to go myself this year but will be in middle of July, just after the Le Mans classic race. Wasn't planning on taking my car as am going with a friend (Chris, has a white MR2 turbo) but seeing these pics is making me want to take mine along as wel...)
