I think garages now are more inclined just to do MOT's rather than work-its a lot easier to charge someone £45 to put chalk marks on & fail a car on loads of things than it is to do work-easy money rules at the end of the day

I found the best way to do discs was to split all 3 ball joints, undo abs reluctor and associated bolts and completely remove front leg from car, then loosen the 4 disc retaining bolts, place between two planks of wood and belt hub bearing apart with suitable socket on back of splined bit,I found no ma...

that doesnt sound like a bad deal,we bought a H reg cavalier with 100 odd on clock for £350 (but I knew the owner) and it has just gone through an MOT needing only £50 worth of work (CV joint gaiter)

remember though the engine might still be ok at high miles but the rest of the car will need work-shockers,discs,cv's brakes etc so low/average mileage is best

I once bought a D reg cavalier 1.3 for £80,was one of the best cars I ever had! only failed on two things on MOT and needed a bit of TLC to keep it running but used to get us to blackpool and back (180miles round trip) every other week!

the main thing is to mark the position of the camwheel up on cover or something when engine is at TDC compression stroke BEFORE u take belt off/anything else, then u know it will go back together with the right cam/valve timing.Maybe a bit late for this now, hope u havent moved cam/hope there is somet...

they did actually describe it saying that gas can be a bit "savage",the idle is good its just when u feather the accelerator in traffic/low speeds that the power comes in with a bit of a jerk(no big deal really),apart from that the power is very good when u floor it,will let the system bed in proper...

It is possible to get more power out of lpg than petrol with the right engine/compression ratio/timing because of its super high octane rating.

Its not really a power gain, the only reason it has more power is because my petrol system has some fault,on a car that was working 100% on petrol u would lose power on LPG,but not much

Done 3 HG's, tools=socket set, screwrivers, torque wrench, camlocking tool I found not necessary just mark the cams up, prob need new cambelt+headbolts as well, may get away with reusing exhaust manifold gasket, inlet manifold gasket doesnt need removing by looks of things
