Company name change notification

It seems that there is a risk of us loosing our .eu domain name as we are based in the UK.
There is a notification to all UK based companies with .eu domain names here https://ec.europa.eu/info/publications/ ... n-names_en

For trademark reasons the name of the company is currently registered as "pscan.eu LTD" and not as just pscan.

The pscan.co.uk domain has already been taken by Property Scan LTD but fortunately pscan.uk is available and so we have registered this domain.

The easiest solution is therefore to change the name of the company with Companies House to "pscan.uk LTD" and our share holders have agreed to do exactly that.

This gives us one year to migrate everything. Hopefully most customers should not notice anything significant.

One problem that we will have is the Mac OSX version which is hardwired to install itself into the "/Applications/pscan.eu" folder. When we migrate we will probably make the installer / updater create "/Applications/pscan.uk" and it will just ignore the old folder.

Surely you would keep everything as .eu apart from the name at companies house.

I don't think that Companies House care what we call the company.
The problem is the .eu domain name which will kill the website and the software update process if we don't migrate.

Can you find someone in the eu to take ownership of the domain and renew on your behalf?

Don't think that would work - the company would still be UK registered. The European Commission will only issue/allow renewal of a .eu domain for companies that are registered or have a base within the European Union.

A company name change costs £8.

I just thought that it is good courtesy to let customers know what's going on and why.
