Hayley, fitting a new one will not solve the problem. Ideally you need to tweak the routing of it to maximise distance, as well as uprate the material. A month ago or so I sorted this problem once and for all with this....

It has a stainless overbraid, plus I reduced the horizontal length above the alternator with a compression fitting and P-clipped it to the waterpump cover. This is a bullet-proof solution as far as I'm concerned - done a few road miles and one trackday since fitting it and all's well.

I had Pirtek make it up for me. I can get these at 20% below trade (due to working for a large global engineering company), so if you send me your knackered one I'll have it reworked and returned. If you can't wait get to your local Pirtek counter, but don't expect much change from £100.

HTH, Cheers,
Rob

I wrapped mine in some silver heatwrap stuff... made sure to go over the whole area a few times and touch wood... it seems to be holding up ok.

Make sure the pipe isn't rubbing on the downpipe either. Mine was originally so I had to fiddle about to create a gap.

Lol, heavy and visability was a tad poor with all the smoke that poured out. Didnt really test out the cookie tbh as had sorted a leak out on my t28 so was keeping an eye on that plus was only boosting to 10psi max. Was going to turn it up when we stopped but thats when the pipe went. :(

Lou do you have any of these available?
