Inspired by recent events, I've found myself browsing this forum and I like it. I'm really impressed with this site. Clean, clear and helpful. With a lot of ex and current Rover owners, this feels like a home from home if you are considering an Alfa.

AlfaDriver

Well worth checking out and seems a friendly place.

How long before it ends up like Rovertech and just a place for baiting, bitching, nantsy pantsy childish arguments, keyboard warrior antics, ego maniacs, bad attitudes and bullying? :|

I come from there and can vouch that it is mighty fine. Though my other car is a rover and I hear there are a few good folk on here too.

I genuinely wish Munky all the best but my pet hate is people setting up 'another car site'.

I am not saying that it is the case, maybe he has found some special 'niche' but I have seen car forums get fragmented into random stuff over the years and in my opinion it is typically those that want the 'power' of the Internet that start a new site.

I am sure that Null_Byte will admit that we sure as hell have not seen eye to eye during my 4 years on this forum and although I can find him a bit pompous at times he does walk the fine line between moderation and power quite well.

My point is based around the fact that as a Vauxhall fan-boy I have seen places like Migweb become quiet and lacking a soul due to a string of sites cropping up - hell, some prat even started a forum for Arden Blue coloured Vauxhalls at one point! You get so many model specific and inturn engine specific forums that it just degrades the decent forums.

It would be like setting up a Rover Metro diesel forum or something? Everyone wants their slice of the pie and it really annoys me.

Don't worry cupcake. No civil partnerships available here!

I think anyone that has used any forum (not just car specific ones) can see the effect over the years.

It's maybe my second biggest pet hate. Don't get me started on the dolers!
