Dom, you really should advise your sister to keep her FB profile settings on private ;) It's only a matter of time before someone posts that photo...

I guess it is because he is younger than the rest of them and they see him as an easy target.

Why don't you all grow up fellas and leave the lad alone? Give him credit for his ideas and someone ADVISE and ENCOURAGE him instead of mocking him.

This guy is young and enthusiastic about Rovers, that is why we are all here isn't it? :D

I suspect every one of those of you who have mocked him would not say anything negative to him face-to-face at a meet................

You havent been on the forum long enough to understand.

After owning Rovers for many years, I joined this forum on the understanding that there would be friendly, like minded Rover enthusiasts with a wealth of knowledge to pass around.

Some members have more than lived up to my hopes and expectations.

James, I understand enough, that you and a few others have unfairly given this young member a hard time. Yes, he has asked lots of questions, but given that, he will learn from that knowledge. Why do you and some others think you are more worthy than him to mock him and judge him?

Your collective lack of comradeship and encouragement for a budding, young Rover enthusiast saddens me............

Unfortunately there have been a few individuals over the years who have wasted a lot of members time and ignored sound advice given. Mostly young and full of wild ideas that they have no experience or cash to make happen. They usually make a fool of themselves then fade away or get banned. eg http://www.rt2468abcd.r8technology.co.uk/viewtopi ... 8&t=114545. I guess people saw the pattern and jumped on him a bit quick. Time will tell but I think encouragement is definately the way forward untill proved otherwise. We'll see if the 2nd Coupe materializes.

Dan,

I don’t care how long or how many rovers you have owned..... you haven't been on the forum long enough to judge me either so jump back in your long johns and stop the bickering.

I've been on the forum since I was 17 and also had ambitious ideas (most of which never actually happened!), I had people mock and give me stick too however I also listened and took their advice on things and soon became more realistic and respected the forum.

This guy needs to take off his bib and stop expecting everyone to baby feed him otherwise he won’t get far on the forum or in life.

I've read a number of your comments James, and I have seen enough to judge your apparent character. Rather hypocritical of you since you will have formed a judgement of me....... I speak my mind, but I don't intentionally set out to put someone down.

In rather a ironic way, you look down your nose at Dom, regarding the lad as an apparent fool and a dreamer, until such time that he has to prove otherwise. Most probably to your frustration, as you would have enjoyed mocking him. So you were the same age as him when you first used this forum? I would figure you would be the one to understand, respect and defend his approach.

You have good days and bad days with members like this especially when you've met a few over the years.

Other than the long john comment, I'm not judging you Dan I'd rather pop over on saturday and say hello then you can judge me, I'm really not that bad :D

Okay, fair play James. I would hope that you would be pleasant to meet. I'm a man of the world with plenty of life experience. I just don't like to see a young lad, just a little older than my stepson getting a public mocking.

All said and done, Dom is trying hard to fit in and learn the ropes. Please don't fall into the trap of tarring him with the same brush as previous members who may have had advice wasted on them..........
