Hi all,
I've seen a what looks like a decent ZS 180 for sale on one of the pages on facebook reg SL54 AOH wondering if anyone has any info about this car? Previous owners or any history or anything. Apparently its only done 56000 which aint bad for a car of that age but also makes my think why?
Any info would be good. I'm off to look for it on Thursday to see what its like any main things I should look for on these?
Cheers
Jonny

Vis motors. Apart from that... nothing went on mine.
"Alrite mate, whats in that?"
"im in it"

Dead VIS motors are indeed a well known issue. I would also check when the cam belts were last replaced (if you don't have the tools/skills/inclination to do a belt change, they are a job which a garage will charge through the nose for: typically £500+ as there a three to do).

Here is my thread
Mine had the water leak from a cracked thermostat housing, look under the engine cover in between the V of the engine, look for orange coolant and or staining
Let me know if you want to know anything else?
One major is rust, front jacking points and the rear sill under the rear doors, its quite exposed and can start to rust.

Bought it done about 1000 miles and cambelt looks to have gone. Booked in the week for a swap of them as well I literally feel sick about it was running perfect and it just gave up.

Not a common occurrence for the belt to go on these. The 75's service life is 90k or 6 years and I've seen them running much longer than that, one with over 140k and 10 years although the belt was in a bad way...
Engines are cheap enough though, get a 2.5 out of a 75, shouldn't be more than £400 but I'd put a belt, water pump and thermostat on while I'm there. And the belts are a bit of a pain to do because the pulleys aren't keyed to the camshaft like the k18 So setting tools are required to make life simpler (although not a necessity)
