"Going fast" phrases

Post by Leo »

Fellas,

Myself and a friend [chrisbr68] have been trying to come up with as many phrases as we can for driving fast, there's way more than I'd thought!

- Rag
- Cane
- Hoon
- Beans ("give it some beans", "give it a beaning")
- Blat
- Right foot ("give it some right foot)
- Footing
- Shoeing
- Pressing on
- Making progress
- Stretching its legs
- Blow out the cobwebs
- Burn it
- Hoof ("Giving it a hoofing")
- Pasting
- Stirring stick (as in gear lever)
- Open the taps
- Give it some welly
- Spoon it
- Large ("He's larging it", "He's going large")
- Tw*t ("He's going like a tw*t", "I came down the hill like a tw*t")
- Italian tuneup (got that from george_chick!)
- Getting some milk (when you take a long fast route to the very local shop, just for the sake of a drive)
- Drive it like you stole/rented it

That's it for now, please feel free to add more :D

- burning rubber
- pedal to the metal
- drive it like Leo

:P

I like how they all conjour up different things- threading the needle suggests some naughty motorway driving, stirring the stick suggests a bit of racing etc

"Going a bit urgent"

A valeter said that to me while trying to get the flies off the windscreen the morning after I had evaluated the cars stability with the needle off the end of the speedo, " bother sake mate, you've been going a bit urgent huv ye no"

So no ones ever 'rinsed' it?!

sounds like something for the mazda mx5 owning hairdressers!!!

of course we've all 'bombed' it aswell.

Think my favourite though is burned it "burned it to swindon, then had to burn it all the way back again lol"
