Tell me about 620 ti's please!

Post by Fraz »

Hi folks

Im out lookin for someone with high bhp and is good for general use doing a good few miles while still beign able to take to crail etc and give the other folks a good fright in an old rover lol.

Found steve ti 's 620 turbo with mongoose lowered slightly and with 17's for a fair price.

Whast good about them and whats crap? Im lookin to lower it more. Whats kits are availble ( its only down 25 mill supposedly. doesn;t actually look like much!)

Ive had a coupe turbo in the past so knwo how roughly to tune them . This one has allready had a boost control thpo so is at 12 psi all the time. It also has a cat back mongoose.

Do they handle well? And if i was to get a front mount and a few opther bits n bobs how fast are they? And do they handle? Ill prob get some dif wheels and lowerin it more plus modify the exhaust get rid of cat etc.

ought else u folks can say to convince me to get one?

Its this or i buy a cav turbo and this so far has same bhp and is cheaper so its winning slightly!

To get any Rover Turbo a fair bit quicker will cost £££'s.

Supspension - loads of springs only available, Pi the lowest of the bunch, no kit available but add a set of Bilstein shocks and your laughing.

FMIC - GRANT
Cold air box - GRANT

Wheels you can fit up to 19" if you want, Honda PCD so plenty available.

A Ti is a Q car people dont know what it is untill you dissapear :D A Cav is a bit of a Chav car and it is a Vauxhall :o .

On a Rover forum you will always get a bias towards a Rover espically over a Vauxhall

Can you tell me how much it cost to convert it to LPG?..I hear you can get a grant to help pay for the conversion if you switch to LPG?

And this is with a 620ti?

You can only get a grant in your car is relavitvely new. Up to about 4 years old i believe. To convert will cost £1200+. Not worth converting, also the tax freeze finishes this year.

The only thing I'd say the Vauxhall has going for it is the bottom end is very strong for extra power but the heads go pourous and the 4x4 system is VERY fragile and expensive to repair!

Personally I'd stick with the Rover, the 620ti is a very underated car!!

Drive a 620ti, you will be VERY surprised how good they actually are.

When you put an open filter on them it sounds like a party whistle, wicked

cost me £1500 for semi-sequential gas injection on T reg 620ti,tartarini system, turbo is no problem with gas injection, price differential between LPG and petrol is set to decrease by 1p a litre until 2007,LPG at morrisons/asda is still 30p a litre, getting on for a third of the price of petrol at some places,I reckon if use a lot of fuel it is still well worth doing
