problems
Having read some of these post's, i've come to realise that so many of you have put your trust with this guy.
I once had a lot of faith in this guy however, over a period of time i have come to realise that he is not the reliable type of business man that everyone may believe. I respect that we are all free to our own opinion,, however, i would like to share mine.
My trust in this man has been lost, as i have been trying to contact him in respect to a car that i purchased from him 3 months ago. At the time of the purchase he did not hand over the vehicle registration form, he then promised that he would post it on. Once again i gave him the benefit of the doubt ,and to my surprise i have still not received it.
The council are now requesting the car to be impounded as without this form i cannot tax the vehicle. So once again where is he when i need to get this sorted? He never takes any calls and will not answer emails, I now run the risk of losing this car. This guy is not a fair tradesman and where is he being fair?
I also purchased an engine off him for a friends car which he guaranteed was all ok. Once the engine was fitted we then realise that the bottom end of the engine is beyond repair. He has promised numerous times to replace it, but once again i have been let down and i am left with the problem.
Now I am at a loose end with all this , I have a vehicle that I have paid £200 for which I will end up losing due to the lack of a pen and a stamp. Also i have a dead engine that he has promised me a refund for, however I am unable to retrieve. There is also a vvc engine that I have already paid for which he has arranged to deliver to me upon retrieving the dead engine. However this has not been done either and i am losing money.
Can anyone advise me on what to do ?
thanx ian

Already looked into this possibility with regard to a certain company.
The problem lies in the fact that there is no money of any consequence in the company.
Daily cash flow is on a hand to mouth basis.
It is believed that there might be money stashed away but would not be cost effective to try and recover it.
There are minimal assets either and when there is a hint of action being taken, what assets there are "disappear".
There ARE other solutions of course but I wouldn't condone their use

If, after two months, you haven't got the log book from him, isn't it possible to obtain one from the DVLA via a form from the post office. I hear that they don't even check the validity of most forms and send the V5 out willy-nilly.
That's why there are so many dodgy ones around with stolen vehicles. Failing that, the "visit the geezer in the dark" idea is a good one.
