pod yesterday

Post by tomcat »

run at the pod yesterday -getting there slowly... had a few traction issues and broke my front engine mount again!

still managed a 13.28sec run @110.3mph so getting a bit quicker hopefully 12's next time!
down from 13.44sec 8)

Nice one mate, looking good.

Which engine mount do you keep breaking, std rover one or rover motorsport ones ?

Also what was your 60ft times like?

Cheers

This one was a std one -but I have broke 2 x roversport also in the past!

60ft times were poo 2.3-2.5sec apart from 1 2.157sec 330ft in 5.9sec -which about as good as I have got tbh.
Trouble is when it hooks up I can't get in 2nd gear if it spins its not a problem.
I recon its because the mounts gone though.

deffo 12's should be possible next year if i can make up a stronger front mount!

Nice times scott.

Yeah that front mount is a bit of a crap design, I also ripped a Roversport one into two pieces. Not a very good design to rely on the rubber to hold under tension.

I had a similar problem at totb and crail Scott, gentler launches 2nd was no probs, hard off the line with the wheels spinning up and holding it at 6000 with them spinning, wouldnt go into 2nd, ended up changing the cable and it's been fine since, though 1st to 2nd still has to be a bit more careful than others.

Nice time's as well Scott 8)

I was running 17psi and a 30 shot just at the top of 2nd and 3rd gears.
I had trouble with it popping and banging so couldn't use it in 4th
I recon if I drop the boost to 16psi maybe I can use it thoughout 4th also...
I think it was running into detonation tbh.
I recon it gained me 1-2 tenths and 3mph in the 1/4"
The trouble is, the faster you get the harder it gets for even a small improvement in times

Just stripped the turbo off engine mounts split in half --again 3rd one in a year!
