I just thought id mention that Colin(former Jaky owner) had his car on the rollers for the first time after completing the running in after his rebuild. Obviously this is the basic run and much o mapping has to be done to get it running in its prime but it made 345bhp and 310lb.ft of torque at 20PSi which i think he should be very proud of.I thought id mention it as sinc the incident(theft) of his car he doesnt really say much on here these days.
Well done matey

Yep emarald fitted and mapped but only up to 20PSi as his super duper funky DV was too pu$$y for the job and couldnt hold any more boost.

I know the initial aim for the project was 450+ @crank.From what Colski's been saying i think hes more than over the moon with the performance now(as a begruntled GSXR 600 would agree), but hes said theres a fair way to go yet.Keep it coming I say!!

Cheers chaps. The initial power figure was 400 at the flywheel. I'm quite happy with what it is running at the moment, but I'll be back to Dave at Emerald once I get a stronger spring for my dump valve, so we can wind the boost up more - only on 1.5bar at the moment.

Its actually nicely drivable, just a bit vicious when it comes on boost hard!
Might wind it up to 2 bar, not sure yet, will see how brave I am feeling. All the bits can take it (just maybe not my heart
) - I was getting sweaty when we upped it to 1.7 bar on Emerald's rollers!
Will put the power plot up when I get it back from Roy.

it was an interesting day getting it mapped dave had never mapped above 1.5 bar before! and karl had to put extra rows in the map adjustments table to allow for the boost, though the spec-r dump valve spoiled the day as the powerplot shows there is loads to come yet
at 1.5 bar the compressor is slap bang in the centre of the high effiency island at around 77% effiency
bring on next year, 2.0 bar and some minor changes
Ps its royston i just cant get my old password sent to my new email address
dave walker and karl are gods and i bow before thee

If so, when does it get full boost?

0.63 and a 4" inlet - cool.
Boosts quite late then, but that's to be expected.

Hmm, thats worrying, thats what I've got!! Thought these would be alright as have seen plenty of Evo's running 2bar with them!
Combat Coupe, Gone but not forgotten. 13.21 1/4 Running 12psi. 321bhp / 312lb ft @ 16psi, then running 26psi!

How come the dump valve is leaking anyway?
Surely it has 20psi either side of the valve when under boost? The vacuum hose doesn't only open the dump valve, it also holds is shut.
With 20psi each side of the valve the spring is whats keeping it closed.
