Would be better to change cars tbh ir keep the 1.4. The extra insurance cost from changing the capacity of your engine would be rather large and not really worth it for the extra 6bhp.

The insurance company *should* just class it as a standard 1.6 though

amount of work involoved in the engine change isn't really worth it for the power gain you'll be getting :(

tbh its quite a straight forward swap. Probably not worth it if there isnt anything wrong with your exsisting lump.

I wouldn't bother either, but I'm sure the 1.6 would still be considerably faster than the 1.4. (even tho not much extra bhp

Depends on the insurance company though I expect. I'd imagine it'd rule out a lot of them and generally be more hassle than it's worth for 6bhp. I'd much rather sell the 414 and go buy a 420GSi, get more power than the 416, better spec, no hassle and probably not even spend £200 on top of the 414 selling price.

Straight swap. 1400 ecu will run it fine.

The extra torque makes a world of difference.
