lotus elise/exige parts on a r200/25/zr
hi guys and girls, just thought id ask if any1 has swapped any parts over from an elise/exige,ive been hunting around for info for a few days,it seems that the elise/exige shares a few similar things to the 200 range, e.g wheel pcd.
Anyone else know if any of the other parts are the same, parts like gear knob, steering wheels, brakes, calipers etc.
Im just trying to build a picture in my mind of what would be worth buying, as a set of exige wheels would look lovely on my 200vi,if they fit that is,and also would look different to the usual wolfrace logger i see loads of nowadays.

it was a general question,i was aware of the different engine in the exige, the main thing i was thinking of tbh guys were the wheels off an exiget666top wrote:i no the elise is the k seriesstefaclese wrote:The Elise used to have the K series engine fool![]()
Erm, as far as I'm aware only engine parts are transferable as well as gearbox bits. Some more parts may be transferable with the MGF but thats probs about it.
but the exige doesnt thats wat i was saying
i quite like the look of them, only thing that bugs me a little is that they made them in 16front 17back,unless ive read that wrong somewhere.

The series 1 Exige was powered by a VHPD 'K' series. The series 2 (and newer Elises) have a Toyota lump in them.t666top wrote:i no the elise is the k seriesstefaclese wrote:The Elise used to have the K series engine fool![]()

Most of the engine/gearbox is Rover. It's a mish mash of other stuff, like the washer motor from a Citreon AX, switchgear from a Peugeot, Corsa Steering wheel etc, etc. Here's a rough guide...

No problem.
BTW, I would think that there is a huge difference in offsets between Rover wheels and Lotus ones, Rover offset is around 35 IIRC. The Lotus ones even have different offsets and diameters between front and rear depending on the wheels used...

If you like the Exige style I would stick to a similar design from OZ or Rimstock. You'll have a much easier time than trying to adapt Lotus rims.

yeah cheers for that gazza, seems a bit too much hassle just for a set of wheels, seemed a good idea at the time, but now its becoming more apparent why you dont see them on many other cars!Gazza wrote:No problem.
