Would a derv gearbox be an answer to to top end speed?.

the right ratio's and loads of power would do the trick an aerodynamic shape is a major bonus too.

what colour is the tomcat in your sig?

IIRC adding a derv 5th gear to a 220 turbo box gives a theoretical top speed of 180mph on standard rev limit. I think that's as fast as you can go by mixing standard parts.

Hi,

a Diesel 5th on an otherwise standard K7 box running 195/50/15's at 6750 would theoretically run 187mph

That sounds about right, I put ratios from 3 different boxes in mine to spread it out a bit, with a diesel 5th it did 185mph @ 7000rpm on the rolling road but there isnt much wind resistance on rollers.

Andy R is the fastest on here with a proven 170+mph
