Right you all know I was selling my coupe, a few weeks ago I got a texts from a Don-bailey from hear or real name Dale! He wanted the coupe as he owned the car before at some point. after a lot off messing around ie, he wanted to send money via bank transfer before seeing the car , then changed his mind, because I wouldn't lower my price. I wanted £1850 but he wanted it for £1750 I did talk to him on the phone tho seemed a ok guy, but after that the messages did get heated not going to lie . He then started sending me crap, like how he box's and goes the gym lol and would come down to do me in which I found very funny at the time, not a very nice guy in the end. And for some reason he ask me not to let any one know from Rt he was buying the car, which I found very odd! Any way........

The last 4 days Iv been having messages from 2 numbers and 07853674222, He seen the coupe on line and wanted to view the car. I took a phone call from a hes missus, she said her feller wanted the car but couldn't talk as he was at work. How ever I did call the number back but he wouldn't talk to me on the phone !!! every time I called him he wouldn't pick up, and then I would get a texted saying he was at work busy at all hours of the day. You might find this funny but I wanted the coupe to go to a good home but any way we agreed on a price. I wanted £1850. I sent him a few messages asking for hes name took 3 times to come up with LEE, any ways 1st he wanted to send money via bank transfer, which I found odd again and then wanted to get a company to pick the car up, then he was coming by train, then by car. Any ways he was coming to view today but then changed hes mind this morning but in the last texts he sent he would come down if I lowered my price to £1750!

Again I thought this was very odd so I said no thanks, but some think was eating me up inside I'm sure we all have had them feelings before, there was something going on so I asked him are you donbailey. (No don't know who's that? you got me mixed up with some one else ) I was sure it was him it all sounded the same as before. This guy was gonna buy my coupe end of last year he came and viewed it agreed on price of £2700 he went away then he tried to get me to sell at 2200 which was never gonna happen so I decided not to sell it then he came back to me still wantin it and was gonna pay 2600 but I just stopped replying to him

He does seem abit dodgy imo as I actually sold my old coupe to him in 2008 when he used the name Dale and I asked him if Dale was his name but said it wasn't but I will say I never forgot a face plus he comes from same town if your gonna lie about your name u can't be trusted think he jyst buys and sells to make money tbh avoid like the plague I'd say I'm just glad I didn't sell mine to him as it'd probably be on eBay or piston heads for more money than I sold it for!

hi guys right ill tell you this dale (don baliey) is a complete F**kin TW4T, and when he sold the car to me he lied about the car condition as told me there was no rust on the body anywhere and that this had been in his famliy for many many years, but i found out this wasnt the case about 4months after owning the car but seen as the car was 95% mint i still had the car off him while i owned the car i fitted a new uprated head gasket water pump cam belt and mg zs 180 v6 brakes all round and had the rust repaired after 18month i then got a mazda 6 mps so thought id sell the the car and put it up for sale.

straight away dale (don baliey) call me and said to end the add and he would give me the asking price of £1995 for the car as he really wanted the car back in his family. So i thought well ok pulled the add from pistons as he was going to come on the following sat to collect the car.
friday afternoon came round and i got a call from dale dave im reallly sorry i cant get access to my saving account for 14days and wont be able to get the car till my funds clear ok i thought fair enough, what followed then was daily calls and tx messages from dale wanting me to email picks of the car asking about how it ran had i fixed the rust on the body work etc. I answered all these question and he was like i cant wait to get the coupe back wished id never sold it please hold it for me and dont tell the guys on the owner forum im buyin her back.

Then the day before he was ment to come and get the car for the second time he rang dave im real sorry ive broke my leg and will have to pass on buying the car ok real sorry to hears this hope you get better 2days later dave could you bring the car up for me and ill still have it ill leave the money with my misses. Ok i said but ill want £100 to cover my fuel there and back and a £100 up front for the car ok send me ur bank deatils ill transfer the money which he did then calls and said dave cos im in hospital and cant work i can only afford to pay £1500 for the car so told he where to go what a d1ckhe4d if you ask me

Anyway tim had the car off me and i was happy to sell the car to him as knew it was going to go to a gud home and would be looked after like i had done with it and i still think hes's is mad to sell her as it is a a1 coupe thats in a1 condition and drives and performs really well

Anyway Dale AKA DON BALIEY i hope that the guys who run rover tech kick you off this forum as over the 10 years ive been on here you my mate are nothing but and joke where the other guys on here are real nice ppl and this forum should remove you and from the rover coupe owner club aswel rant over

So iv been told hes had loads off user names on Rt, he buys and sales cars and use's every one on Rt to make some easy money. He should be stopped I'm sorry to sound hard core lol, he messed me about twice, the only reason I'm selling I need the money what can I say hard times! Wish I didn't have to, any ways this might be a sign not to sell, so we will see and yes he is from Durham

Also I looked using Google, using the 3 numbers I have for him and every add and post I have found he use's a different name, thats whats worrying

Yep had my dealings with him on my coupe years ago, the guys called Dave, lives north/east Durham way, approaches you tells you he wants the car, messes you about, sends you lots of messages and fails to appear!

He's had several usernames on here but never actually been banned, he normally leaves the forum asks to have his account closed, but after a certain time comes back under a different name!

To conclude the guys a waste of time and will waste yours!

Having just read through this, i am pretty sure somewhere on another owners club i have read about something similiar happening. The fact he is asking for bank details means he has your account details and could probably register it to buy things. Based on Mitman's story, continuous texts and phone calls seems strange and there is maybe a bit more to this guy than alot of you might think. Either he is a complete time waster that has nothing better to do with his time or he is up to something fishy which he doesnt want to expose.

No I believe he is a time waster, and wastes your time, so you end up selling him it cheap, the bank details are pure coincidence

I believe that he rings u up offer u a lower price and you say no then all of a sudden with in a few hour you get 3 or 4 call offering u similar money then he will tx ya offering a little bit more and says he really wants thinking that u will sell at his raise price cos he is offering more than every 1 else so he can then sell it on to some else for top money as every add he places always reads almost the same way not being funny but I've never seen a car online and rang and made an offer in a car unless I've viewed and tested it

Right people just so you know iv send him a message asking him to come on Rt and have hes say guess what nothing lol ..... But after doing a little research with some one I know whos met him, I found the little logger on Facebook. Hes really name is dale ****** put this in to Facebook search engine you will see a photo off him with a dog! and the funniest things is hes dogs name is bailey lol what a *sniff* I love u!
