Cream/beige leather in early cars same shade as later cars?

Post by 1374lee »

Hi. I was wondering I have cream/beige leather in my 1995 200 coupe. My question is, the leather in the later cars is it the same shade or not?
I want to replace both upper and lower outer bolster leather on the drivers seat.I am trying to get a match with the colour I already have in my car? Anyone obtained leather and from where? Someone still stocking the oriignal leather perhaps or specialises in Rover leather?
I went to two upholstery places today and even though the shades they could get as they looked at their colour match book was still not quite right and it need to be a smooth leather really to match properly.
I hope somebody can help.

Cheers.Lee.

Yes light grey in later coupes from what I have been told, cream/beige in earlier cars. Reason I was asking is I know for a later leather interior, thought I could use some of the material off that, sadly not then.I have been to 2 upholsterers but the colour match is close but not quite right.Texture of the leather to as it seems like a smooth leather to me and not rinkled if that makes sense.

This is similar to what i was thinking of, the site id seen before listed the actual interior colours and what kit matched though
