yes ive just heard/looked at the navman, the tom tom go is said to be too big and bulky to carry with u but the navman is a lot lighter/compact,fed up with using maps!

would some kind of PDA with attachment or GPS card be a better & cheaper option.

prefer the idea of an "all in one" device rather than having to use external PC heard of problems with these "freezing" etc

A mate did alot of research in to sat nav recently.
I cant rember what he uses have txted him to ask.
He uses a pda with a bluetooth gps module.
Aparently the tom tom recever is good but cant be used with anything else, which lilmits your future use.

Research your purchase well because once the unit has been used it will NOT be returnable.
The navman units that are sold at Halfords all work well but only buy one if you are going to use it regularly. If you will use it less than once a month then don't bother.
The best unit for value for money and ease of use is the Medion MDPPC 250PDA in my opinion and it's cheap as chips at £299 in halfords at the moment. Comes with 256mb memory card and usual pocket pc programs.

Garmin Street Pilots are awesome but pricey. Most are around the £800 mark. But they have a huge memory, give you lots of information, and good route planning softeware to go with it. You can always download new maps for different countries too, and no subscription fee
I usually nick my dads when going on a mission, and cant fault it really.

I've used a HP Ipaq 2210 with Rikaline GPS mouse and TomTom.
AWESOME!
Cannot be beaten for the cash.
PDA is about £150 on ebay
Mouse is about £70 on ebay
TomTom is £???
I've just got most of it sorted out for my car because I was so impressed when Rich Tea and me went to Millway with it.
