Ive heard that for a yellow line or double yellow line to be legally binding, it has to be completely continous from its start to its end. The line must be terminated with a 'break' yellow marker as listed in the highway code.
Without such start and end markers, and continous lineage between them, they can be dismissed.
Might be a load of old cobblers but worth checking

I once got a ticket (in London) for obstructing a gate entrance, whilst i was fixing the gate that stopped me from driving the van off the road
Must of been one of those job's worth traffic wardens

All four wheels on the pavement
Forget it - pay up before you get prosecuted for obstruction... or worse.
Courts take a VERY dim view of vehicles on pedsetrian areas.
Also, as a personal comment, try telling a blind person that there is room for them to get past wehn they come upon your vehicle parked on the pavement

The council own the pavements, and there not really designed for cars lol.
Technically yes a broken yellow line means if it got to court chances are it wouldnt go any further on technicalities if you kicked up a stink. As it is your not allowed to park their so theres not much way of getting out of it.

Afraid not Gary.
As somebody said earlier, for a yellow line area to finish you need the "T" bar.
If a yellow line just runs out owing to being worn off or because of recent roadworks, a court must take the view that a reasonably competant motorist would be aware that the lines were temporarily not visible and therefore such a defence would not be a basis for argument and would be dismissed.
Much the same argument can be applied (and dismissed) with regard to, for example, lane markings on a dual carriageway.
So it's a non-starter I'm afraid.
The major point here though is that the vehicle WAS wholly parked on the pedestrian reserve and, should the local authorities choose to pursue it, would lead to a lot more grief than a mere parking ticket.

Click Here for my feedback threadYou will probably find your ticket will say that you have driven a motor vehicle on a public footpath, even though it was parked.-think about it!
You stand no chance, they can and some will (traffic wardens) use this illegal act to give you a ticket even if only 1 wheel is on the path- I know I got one for this very reason. Look at most residential streets mine for 1 has most cars half on half off otherwise no one can get through, technically all are breaking the law and yes we have had traffic wardens ticket them despite no yellow lines, also for the vehicle being pointing the wrong direction.
Pay Up (if early usually less of a fine) you get no criminal record and learn for next time.

yeah mate as the above have already said your in the wrong this time. I get the odd £30 parking fine parking outside my student house but at the end of the day the rules are there to be adhered to. Its better to pay the fine than try wangle your way round things and end up with a court summons. Just my 2pence

To park on the path you must have driven onto it.
Pay Up and Grow Up! if you have to park there do so but risk a ticket every now and then like the most of us.
