had a good race last night with an R32 bloke was gutted tho cos he couldn't beat me off the lights or moving fror that matter, had a long chat with him after and he is now going to have it chipped to try and beat me at pod on the 25th, we'll see ha ha ha. Had to tell someone cos you know how big headed you feel when you've just beat a 25k 240bhp car and your in a £1500 Metro
the Tro weights about 850kgs i think, thats why its so much fun, also i had a Mk3 VR6 last year and my misus said it was an old mans car, i'd have another t16 if you didn't have to spend loads on them to make them as fast as my metro!!
I'd be quite confident about you winning again on the strip, the Golf is n/a so a chip isn't gonna do that much. What's he gonna get 20bhp at most?
There was an engine management update for them though (an official one) and that does make a big difference, without that theres a significant hesitancy at about 3k rpm.
Most owners are gonna have had this done though, someone paying 20k+ for a Golf is going to be an enthusiast.
A Golf R32 owner has appeared on the XPower forum and has passed on this useful bit of info.
Well i would just like to say that even if i was to get beat i have nothing to be a shamed of as i could have 16 VVC Metro's for the the cost of 1 R32!!!!
I had some fun with an Alfa 156 GTA yesterday on my way back from Haynes, it was faster than me, but he must of had a shock to see a Rover keeping up alongside him past a ton.
