Urgent ABS Sensor help

Post by steb9780 »

Can someone help me urgently.

My ABS sensor is duff. So it didn't pass the MOT.
The place have been quoted £150 for a sensor. Which is stupid as Rover do them for about £90 IIRC.

But I have just tried searching for the thread that gave a site that sold them for about £40. I can't find the thread.

Does anyone know what the site was.

To get your car through its MOT, put a 1.5 KOhm resistor across the loom side of the sensor connector, where the sensor connects into the loom(trace the cable from the sensor to find this connector) on every sensor. it fools the ecu into thinking all the sensors are there and will even work while the vehicle is moving. Downside is your ABS wont work with the resistors there, so you will still need a new sensor. But this will get the car through its MOT.

Bosch dealer about £50 for the 800's, probably the same for yours.
Can be a pain getting a Bosch dealer to serve you though.
Try the bloke in Lincoln one of the 800 guys got two off him before.

Don't know what happened there, very old thread in any case.

Never tried them myself, haven't had a scrappy sourced sensor go dead on me yet, so no need to spend £50 when I can spend £10.
