Cookie Racing's Pod Results

Post by andyr »

Good result at Pod today.

Nice to meet some members of Rover Coupe Owners Group.
Didn't spot too many Rovertech members though :(

Results are as follows :-

Run 1 (same set-up as totb)

60ft --- 2.262
1/8 ET --- 8.5
1/8 MPH --- 94.76
1/4 ET --- 12.51
1/4 MPH 124.7

Run 2 (tweeked gas setting)

60ft --- 2.115
1/8 ET --- 8.2
1/8 MPH --- 97.56
1/4 ET --- 12.166
1/4 MPH 124.97

Run 3

60ft --- 2.096
1/8 ET --- 8.1
1/8 MPH --- 95.74
1/4 ET --- 12.127
1/4 MPH 125.32

Unfortunately the car is now in need of some TLC, we will have a look at the tappetts as they seem to be 'moaning' a little. Not surprising really as the car is in a high state of tune compared to the last few years.

Anyway, I'm over the moon, and so was Cookie, as I had to stick to his advice of 'go faster uncle Andy'.....................so I did.

Cheers

Andy

The Festia has a rebuild to do from TOTB, so i would be suprised if he was there.

ROFL !

Cheers for the nice comments guy's !

Still looking at slips and can't believe the performance!
The worrying thing is, is that there may be still more to come on current set-up.

Not more gas, just more map refining and boost

Only sticking with a small shot of gas, as I am only running a single point fogger.
More gas is not always the answer !

Only need a small amount of extra oxygen in the chamber to make huge improvements in output.

Race fuel with 3.5% oxygen gives a 50bhp increase over pump fuel.

A 40 WON jet shows a 42bhp increase and torque is greater than that.

I am setup now on a 150 jet, but i just need to learn to driving now from a standing start !

Excellent results mate.
It's getting faster and faster.
I remember when I started on here and this was one of the first cars I watched some clips of. And it's just getting better and better to watch.

Can't wait to see it in the 11's 8)

Race fuel is not worth 50BHP on a mini 850 :P

Top results, I love the last pic of Cookie relaxing after hard days team motivating :D

May have to consider running some race fuel then if the gains are that much ! I suppose Optimax and CVL is old hat now.

150 jet !!!
Good luck mate, has taken me ages to suss out how to run a 75bhp jet correctly and in a controlled manner.
