He does, but Jerry has since sold off XPowerForums so I believe (to Steve Childs / MGRover.Org) and has created his own site for his 6r4.

His screen name is E48 on the 6r4 forum.

I always remember the saying" The 6R4 burns them all off". Little did they mean the engines. Ventilation was always a problem but a nice car all the same.

Never driven one, but was lucky enough to be taken for a spin around the local race circuit in a Clubman spec a few years ago. Awesome fun - especially going sideways around the corners

Sorry, but it looks like somebody has taken a metro, fitted a stupid spoiler and a stupid bodykit.

If it was a corsa or a nova under that lot you'd all make out it's a chav-mobile.

I know they're stupidly fast, and that the bodywork is needed, so it's cool in that sense, but it does kinda look like a chav car. it's horrible.

YES i know its a very special metro but a metro none the less!

nice piece of brittish motor heritage there, i sure they'd be a few collectors and museums willing to take it off your hands, Gaydon motor museum for example.

It isn't a metro though, it is a 6r4. Yes it may share some body parts with the metro, but it also shares some with the maestro too,

Such a sexy beast and well worth the 30k.

Its just a glorious testament to the excesses of the group B rally car, and of the 80s

It shares more with the maestro than the metro, the strange body kit is fuctional, not fantasy like a cavastic nova.

We had a 2.5 and a 2.8 version we coudln't us eteh 3.0 version as they are not alowed in british rallys, I believe they still run em in ireland though. The 2.5 coudl kill the 2.8. What do you intend on using it for ?

Yes, fully agree - makes the Subarus and Mitsubishis seen since the Rally rule changes back then appear a tad girlie and namby-pamby in comparison.

Anyone who ever heard one of those normally aspirated 'factory' 6R4s in action back then will never forget the superb sound of that engine's exhaust note. To my ears, one of the finest automotive sounds next to the individually tuned megaphone grand Prix motorcycle exhaust sounds from the 1950s, 1960s and early 1970s.

Most modern competition cars and bikes including F1 racers no longer make those superb sounds. Nice yes, but, not the same.

Thinks, if those rally rules had not been changed would EVOs and IMPREZAS have the same status as they have today .... doubt it.
Apparently ... in a parallel universe MGJohn drives ....wait for it..... A ..

So is the 2.5 the 250 bhp "street" version?

Any chance of getting the 3.0 400hp 9000rpm version?

From http://www.mgcars.org.uk/cambs.mgoc/fwd/fwdfaq.html:

"You sould expect to pay between 12-15k (uk pounds) for a good 'tidy' example, the more well used Rallycross examples will be well below this"

Anyone else always wonder whatever happened to Computervision?

You're giving up an escort cossie for what is, ultimately, a metro :? :? :?
