Ford Vs Rover

Post by scooby-slayer »

I am friends with a few  Psycho's that are part of the Oddkidd Creations group of Ford RS's...

We're thinking of a Meet with the Rovertech (you) guys to have a few line-ups... Obviously this is Very early thinking and a bit of planning is due to come into place, but I was wondering if we can get a location or Strip for the Day, how many of you would be willing to meet up and wave the MG-R banner againt the "Dukes of Essex" 8) lol?

Joe.

I'm interested, should be good fun. Cold weather might be good for performance, but if it's lashing down it's not gonna be much fun.

But I vote for Elvington either way.

like it or lump it. Essex is too east for pretty much everyone. a central even will be more beneficial to everyone.

What kind of kit are the RS boys running, models/power plants?

Could be like putting your hand into the jaws of an alligator.

Indeed matey...

Not many of them are less than 200bhp...

90% are Escort RS Turbo's, doubt anyone will take a Cossie tho, maybe 1 or 2 (Sapphires)..

i know of jano oddkid...got a couple of series 1 rs turbos (one black, one white) with cossie EFI management..pectel etc.. he doesnt go over the top just enough to get 200-220 ish bhp and 0 -60 in 6 secs territory.. he's clever but not flash..

Clever is an understatement..

If you know his mates (Steve, Gaz, Aaron and Taz ect) then you'll know it'll be a good match-up... Infact Gareth's RS is on the front page of Fast Ford next month with his Red ZVH Turbo, class..

personally he does everything within a certain budget but gets results..
dont underestimate the rover boys,...with the right cars.. ie a few that
were at the southern rolling rd day.. and a few that were'nt...
they could embarrass the RS turbo's... even with ZVH's..
and the rovers are better looking..

Cossies we dont have the traction to cope tho...
If we cross the essex border ..
do we have to shave our heads to blend in ?? :P

your asking me not to underestimate the RS crew then throw at me a GIRL
will be driving.. behave yourself..( i could be in trouble for saying that)

some of our boys are reliably running bhp in the late 200's..
i hope your AA membership is up to date..
im not tho so i'll shut up now.. :P

Depending on location I'd be up for this.

Not going to trail my donkey boy all the way from Scotland to southern england though, Elvington sounds ideal, nice and central with the entire UK in mind.

I actually bought that edition of "Revs" too!

That was back when most car mags (except Wanx Power) weren't packed with nearly (or completely) nude mingers for extra chav appeal.
