Is it just a standard clutch in the car or has it been updated and is the gearbox standard or steel caged?

Kain, its a stock gearbox as far as I know and like hell am I going to promise its xyz unless I can PROVE it :) especially as your a good mate! If its caged - bonus! And the clutch.... it works lol, not had the box off yet. Drop me a pm on here or facebook withan offer and you can have dibbs

Just skim reading through those links does it mean it's a 220 engine with a 620 box fitted then?

Not this thread Greg the ones that James posted as it says on those links it a t series turbo engine but it's got a 620 box on it which will affect the speedos reading.

90% of the cars have ti boxes, they are better as they are shorter ratio, hot quite sure what you are concerned about ? :)

I'm worried because if it differs from the one I have in the Ti at the moment it'll not be a straight drop in

I'm thinking of getting the engine and box complete.

Is it just that the 620 box will effect the speedo if it was put into a 25/200 then?

If your engine is not fecked, then leave it.

It will need some work to adapt it to fit ( mainly cam side mount, then removal of the 220 stuff at gearbox end etc. ) seems a lot of faffing if nothing is wrong with your engine ?

The ti box in a 220 does over read yes.

I'm just being cautious as I'm wanting to make sure it's an exact swap as mine is wasted spark.

Am I wrong in thinking that if it's actually an earlier engine than the one I have in at the moment it'll need stuff swapping over.

use your existing box kain? its a 20 min swap over out of the bay, which it will surely be if your planing to change engine

kain its only the camshafts that are differing, again could be used from your existing setup, along with everything else ie coil pack blah blah

My engine isn't right since the over heating issue. It's leaking coolant somewhere and not in the usual places. And I've been offered a replacement head but with the cost of the gaskets to do the swap as I feel the heads damaged plus the cost of getting Vard up with the head. The difference in cost is going to be 40.00 in total between my 2 options. My thinking was that an engine drop in with box already attached if it was as said a 620 engine might be quicker and easier than just replacing the head.

It also means that if I got the engine out of my car then it means I can investigate it with no time restraints.

And sorry for the hijack Adam.

It is a Ti yes but it's the one that's got overheating issues with the engine isn't it or was that the other one? Not only that I've got no room to put it either

I presume what he mean't gearbox-wise is whether it still has the Ti speedo gear, presumably it's been changed to a 200/400 gear as it's been in a ZR.

That's the thing it is broke my plan is to swap the engine and box leaving me to have the bottom end out of mine to use as the base for a forged build over time. I'm just waiting for a reply from Adam to confirm some things and then it's just sorting something.
