One thing I will say, make sure it arrives set to english as my bro bought one of these chinese replicas and it was all in chinese and of course there was no way of using the menu system to change it.

Take it down the local takeaway and ask them to change it to English while you wait for your fried rice! ;)

Because it's aimed squarely at people who can't afford an iphone.

But if itdoes the job it doesn't matter one jot.

If the iphone wasn't so overpriced then maybe people wouldn't need to look for a cheaper alternative. There is no way that an iphone is worth best part of £300.

It is definitely worth £300. There are many worse phones sell for that on eBay. If Apple had sold the phone for £299 sim-free, they would have shifted bucketloads of them for xmas.

What it ISN'T worth is £300 plus a compulsory £35 per month contract for 18 months. Which is the only way to buy it at the moment... all together it adds up to £930 :o

Sorry I wasn't clear. I think it is good that there is a cheap alternative to the iphone. Fluke said it was a fake and i was trying to say that it isn't a fake cos its not an identical copy and doesn't claim to be an iphone.

Now I'm confused :?

It is true, I know someone who got one saying "oh it will, that's just anti-apple sh*t"

then when he got it, no MMS function.

Apparently Apple have already announced iPhone Gen 2 which should have all the features missing from the current released model

I reckon Apple rushed the first version to get it out in time for christmas tbh

More fool you mate - i've got a U600, the better half has a F300 and my cousing has a G600 - all 3 have been back in at least 4-5 times for software upgrades, replaced at least once and still crash on a regular basis.

I can honestly say that i will never buy a samsung again - the phones are fantastic but the software they now use is absolute sh*te!!! Which is a shame really because the old D500 i still have has been thrown against walls, dropped down a drain, stood on, chewed by the dog and still works like the day it came out of the factory (with the exception of a few... well a lot lof scrapes and scratches).

The iPhone is worth £300, but only if SIM free, not with a naff contract on top!
You can get a replacement shell ofor the nokia and SE symbians that looks and acts like the iPhones menu system if you really want it that badly.

As for Samsung, no custom messge alert tones equals no sale, plus they are rather basic. The new G800 for example, nice camera with optical zoom, but no other worthwhile features.

The iPhone is nothing special, really. It just has a pretty interface, thats what you pay for. Most phones can do everything it does and more. This device is simply an MP4 player with a phone in it, which is basically all the iPhone is, the difference is that this one is a tiny bit less well designed, but has a much better phone in it.
