was due to pick up new motor tomora moring been looking forward to it last few days was due to pick up:

for a nice £750 cash so rings him up make sure we still on then i asked him to make sure there is some petrol in the tank to get me home so he said he would put some in for me :D great i thought..............................

then get text saying the cambelt has just snapped/slipped off at the petrol station and the car got toed home by the aa :cry: :cry:

lucky or is he lieing and some body has offered him more cash??? :|

Seeing as the cambelt was replace less than 10k ago hes talking shite imo , either that or a tensioner or something has given up ( highly unlikely)

If anybody has offered him more than £750 then they have done you a favour anyway , needs a clutch and rust fixing to make it mint , garage rates thats an easy £300 and you can get a proper mint ti for less.

yea i no but it was the colour i wanted and i have new turbo cluch sat hear any ways as my spare, rust could of wanted till middle of yr lol...

should be looking at another one now on sunday witch is cheeper and hell of a lot less mailage on it with tad more done

Not necessarily! If cambelt had slipped off could be down to some chump that changed it not doing it properly. I would question why he's not ended the auction tho, especially as now its no longer as described!

surpossily getting a garage to have a look at it monday to c what the damage is, i told him few valves prob easier to just swap head garage cost would be stupid

IF he had balsed the fitting up i would suspect it would of failed long before over 8k clocked up though.

accoridng to seller the cam belt is not on at the top, and is wrapped round the bottom some ware, i think summit has got in as he said he dont have cam belt covers!!!!

Nope, I've had a tensioner come loose over time even after it was torqued to correct figure

Kick it into touch. I suspect that, even if you had not asked him to put fuel in, the belt would have miraculously slipped off 'just before you got there'. Pikey motor - go for a better one, there's plenty about...
