for a nice £750 cash so rings him up make sure we still on then i asked him to make sure there is some petrol in the tank to get me home so he said he would put some in for me great i thought..............................
then get text saying the cambelt has just snapped/slipped off at the petrol station and the car got toed home by the aa
lucky or is he lieing and some body has offered him more cash???
Seeing as the cambelt was replace less than 10k ago hes talking shite imo , either that or a tensioner or something has given up ( highly unlikely)
If anybody has offered him more than £750 then they have done you a favour anyway , needs a clutch and rust fixing to make it mint , garage rates thats an easy £300 and you can get a proper mint ti for less.
The Storm Has Gone Again
Bubble/Mk3 conversion looms available including wasted spark AND ZS, pm for prices !
Not necessarily! If cambelt had slipped off could be down to some chump that changed it not doing it properly. I would question why he's not ended the auction tho, especially as now its no longer as described!
surpossily getting a garage to have a look at it monday to c what the damage is, i told him few valves prob easier to just swap head garage cost would be stupid

IF he had balsed the fitting up i would suspect it would of failed long before over 8k clocked up though.

Nope, I've had a tensioner come loose over time even after it was torqued to correct figure
Kick it into touch. I suspect that, even if you had not asked him to put fuel in, the belt would have miraculously slipped off 'just before you got there'. Pikey motor - go for a better one, there's plenty about...
