No need for underlined links, change of colour is enough.Tomâ„¢ wrote:go on.... what you mean?empsburna wrote:Font Type/Size needs to be more structured, but apart from that it looks good.
I will go through the site with a fine tooth comb and sort it out, thankyouempsburna wrote:No need for underlined links, change of colour is enough.Tomâ„¢ wrote:go on.... what you mean?empsburna wrote:Font Type/Size needs to be more structured, but apart from that it looks good.
The text size of the services part is different to the text under the welcome section, it looks out of place.
Portfolio doesn't need to be capitalised and there seems to be comma's everywhere.
Apart from my picky points it looks excellent!
It was once upon a time. I think tiscali own them at the moment.Tomâ„¢ wrote:i presume your ISP is freedom2surf.
Actually, that more than personal preference. Not only is it good practice to ensure sufficient contrast exists (typically between foreground and background elements) it is also necessary for accessibility purposes.Ritchie wrote:I'm not keen on the dark blue text in the light blue menu bar (but that’s a personal preference)
ChangedCraig wrote:Visually, at a glance, it's not bad at all.
I do however have some feedback and suggestions for you.

Was looking at that the other week actually, shame on meCraig wrote:Tom, I advise you to read up on accessibility issues. Start here:
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0
2.0 has been finalised, but is rather more involved than 1.0!
doneCraig wrote:Main content container area: insufficient contrast between background image and left-hand menu. I recommend losing the background image altogether, or at least putting a border around the container.
working on thatCraig wrote:Content header: Unstyled 'Live support' link text looks ugly in comparison to the rest of the page.
changedCraig wrote:Main navigation: Text looks 'fuzzy'. I recommend using a darker blue if you are going to address this.
ran the site through a load speed test, it came out within the limits even for 56k modems, however, I will look into further compression of the images, Just deperately dont want there to be too much image quality degredation.Craig wrote:Banner area: background images are unnecessarily weighty. Consider optimising them - they should not really need to be much larger than 50kb.
changedCraig wrote:Left-hand navigation: insufficient contrast between background and text. It's rather painful here.
changed and sortedCraig wrote:Main content area: headings "web hosting", "web design" and "domain names" look odd centred, in relation to the text that follows. (Also, using different font colours beneath those headings detracts from a professional image and, in the case of the green, contrasts poorly with the background)
changed and sortedCraig wrote:Footer area: font sizes are too small. Contrast is also an issue here.
changedCraig wrote:The first word of a heading should begin with a capital letter. If you are going to break that rule, do it consistently - don't have some headings beginning capitalised, others not.
Craig wrote:The overall navigation is a little bit confusing, to be honest. The switching between sites really exacerbates this.

right back to the drawing boardBeaker wrote:Yes I am using firefox 3 on ubuntu.
I've changed some things, it shouldn't be as much of a problem now.Beaker wrote:I have just been viewing the site on a different set-up (smaller screen size) and a lot of the text overlaps on top of each other.
