Sold my coupe turbo

Post by notroubleclubber »

I finally took the plunge and sold the coupe turbo. managed to get a straight swap for a y plate (2001) vectra sri 2.6 v6. Runs lovely and im not disappointed though im gonna miss the tish!

I will still be popping in and out of the site as my missus still has the mgzr though this will eventually be sold too.

Ive signed up to a few vauxhall sites and im hoping to find one as good and helpful as this one!

Cheers peeps

sell the vectra before it breaks.

Those engines are a complete nightmare to work on.

Fun to drive though :drive:

I still got the zr so will still be on here just not so often.

Looking around the vectra seemed the better option. Another engine (v6) for it is around £150 so not too bad. I have m8s and relatives who work on cars and im hoping i wont need to do alot as its had brand new head, headgasket, water pump and radiator done recently (with receipts!).
PLUS is a 2001 car not a 1996 so im sure ive had the better option.

sounds like all the big ones have ben done then so not much to worry about. The waterpump is a b*tch of a job.

It definitely sounds like a good deal, wasnt denying that. Its a more saleable car than the coupe too. There must be a little bit of you that still wants a Ti though, you could sell the vectra and get a minty fresh one with the change.

yeah im sure i did. Got a few niggly probs like eng managment light is on (suspect something to do with decat) and i had the computer display come up with check coolant level for about 10 secs even though its ok (im guessing a sensor problem) but over all just drove it about 40 miles and all ok so far!

And even though its cost me £200 to swap the insurance round (even though its lower group my coupe was on a cherished car policy ie, old car policy) i wouldnt turn down a nice Ti :P
