So what did you do this weekend...

Post by Pinkie15 »

Blazing sunshine all weekend, ideal for doing for doing loads of lovely things.

Work on the car for POL next weekend ? No

Take a walk in the country, then pub grub and a few beers ? No

Off to the beach for sun, sea and ice creams ? No

General mucking about ? Sort of....

Off to the DIY store for 35 bags of ready mixed mortar.

Out with the shovel, trowel and level

And shed loads of mucking up. Lordy that's a lot of mucking up by hand, wish I'd had a mixer, but end result looking good

Could now do with a shoulder, back and leg transplant.

Got absolutely wasted in Cardiff on my stag do .. One of the best nights out i've had in years !

Then came home to find my 500 litre fishtank had sprung a leak and emptied all over my new laminate floor .. :x
Emptied in just under an hour ... If the missus and her mate hadnt spotted it as they were leaving we would have had a flooded house :scared:

One quiet night out, small bit of gardening on Saturday, watched the Grand National, went to gym Saturday and Sunday. Was a volunteer for a Special Olympics Gymnastics event yesterday, all the kids who participated got a medal :mrcool: , the awards bit of it went on for an hour and a half. They were happy out.

Must really claybar, polish & wax the ZT some time soon.

Saturday - Early start for F1 coverage. Did overtime kitting out a new medical centre with IT (who said the NHS had cut backs) so didnt realise it was hot outside as I went from A/C car to A/C building etc

Sunday - Early start for more F1 coverage, had bro round with 5year kid (my nephew) so played at the park, watched the girlfriend play her rugby match (they are terrible, but hot all girls team) They had their own calendar last year that also featured in some Rugby world magazine. But then after a few hours chillin in the sun and drinking loads, it all caught up with me and I was alseep by 21:30! and didnt wake till the alarm on Monday at 07:00 :o

Friday arvo, picnic on top of Old Winchester hill.
Friday evening, went round and saw Dan Wilkie (TomcatDan) and Suzanne, and their little baby girl Emilia who was born on Thurs. Cute little thing. Youngest baby I've ever held that's for sure.
Saturday, book and sun in the garden in the morning, then went to Marwell Zoo with a mate and played with his spare SLR for 5 hours.
Saturday evening, went for a night out, wasn't the best, wasn't in the best of moods for various reasons and snapped at some bloke at the bar plus swore my head off at a barmaid. To be fair, they were rude and stupid respectively, I just have had a shorter temper of late, so drinking probably wasn't a good idea.
Sunday, recovered from Saturday and went and helped a friend paint her hallway/stairs/landing.

Ahh, what a weekend, I just can't get enough of those sunny weekends off :D

Saturday - F1 Qually with sausage n egg sarnies (nasty taste in mouth after the German took pole - again), mowed the front lawn, cut the front hedge, bbq lunch. After lunch I needed to do some weedkilling (sorry nature lovers) but first I thought I'd let the kids earn some pocket money and pick off the dandylion heads at £0.02 per head before they seed (oops, it cost me £18.78), then I set about with the 20ltr sprayer on the 2500 square foot of weeds at the top of the garden :| tedious.com , then watched the sun go down with a few tins :)

Sunday - F1 (well done JB), took until midday to finish watching it as people kept coming round  , went outside to find that much to the kids delight another few thousand dandylions and flowered (nice try boys). Cut the back lawn and noticed the blade was a bit farked. Sharpened the blade and got the self propell working (never worked in the 3 years I've had it). Got bored and had a mess about with the mower to make it faster so it didn't bog down in long stuff, forgot I'd now got self propell and over did it with the revs (nearly pulled me arms off). Met a man about a digger... beers, bed.

Niiiice weekend!!! First chillaxing one in months.

Thanks.

Just glad I didn't have to do the whole patio, just the last third. Hopefully never have to do it again cos my backs just about gone, real stone weighs loads and those 900 x 600 mm are unbelievable !!

Luckily we got the builders to do our drive, block paved. We got a load of 85mm tegulas off of eBay, saved a fortune, and as they're the same spec as the ones they lay for buses and artics to drive over they ain't ever gonna move :D
