As Simon said, we fitted mine on Saturday. After dealing with the epic fluid leak from the nearside caliper union, we did a bleed of the fronts and took it for a spin round the block to initiate the 'smoking' ;) bedding in process. On that first run the pedal didn't feel much better than the Ti setup it replaced, however the car did stop better and I had faith having tried Si's setup to give me a reference point.

We left the car for a couple of hours and came back and bled the full car this time. That made a noticeable improvement to the pedal feel, but it still wasn't quite there, but as Simon says, I need to cycle the ABS when I get chance. After the second bleed I meediately set off to Birmingham from Peterborough, and over the rest of the weekend I have done total of about 300 miles on the new brakes and pedal feel and pad bite has got progressively better the more I've driven it, and is a clear step up from the Ti's.

I just need to cycle the ABS next weekend and do a final bleed and everything should be spot on. I'll post some photos tonight when I get in from work.

Just as a final point, can I add my thank to Rob and Simon for all their efforts on the design, manufacture and delivery of thit kit. I had been planning on getting the Reyland setup, but I'm glad I waited for these; its a first class bit of kit. Well done fellas!

Ok, with the collection of Lee220's kit today everyone is taken care of with the obvious exception of nzmikenz who hasn't seen his kit yet lol.

If you guys can tell us how you get on, and show us pictures of your installs for the record that would be most helpful. Much obliged to Tom, Sc4mpi, BRG Coupe and Kevin thus far. :)

PeteT16 will be the man to speak to. He procured 5mm hubcentric spacers IIRC as just like most of the OEM wheels the ET45 offset fouls the caliper.

Sc4mpi... when you get a sec any chance you can pop over (po7) and try the spacers with my wheels? just want to see if there is enough thread exposed after to be safe with the MK2 wheels... if not I guess I will look at some wheels with more clearance! - Unless I can find cover for kids, in which case I'll pop down to you :)

It's the same wheel, they spoke curvature will compress radially and will maintain the same general dimensions.

I wouldn't have thought so. TD PR2's are just about the most generous of alloys. If they're ET38 you shouldn't have any issue at all.

I thought your GSiT was a garage-queen :P :)

You could add spacer for belt-and-braces but I think you'll be perfectly OK with that clearance.

And yes, Peugeot 406 Coupe Brembo calipers only

Hi all, I have just joined the site through searching google for ZR big brake kits and came across this. Seems like a really good idea as the reyland brembo cheap kit is £750. I know others have asked before but any news now on a second GB? Also wanted to ask if you had any idea what price a single kit would be if a GB is not on for a while, I know it will be more but wondering how much more. Thanks, James. :D

Would it be possible/ any advantage to put the 282mm zs/ti front brakes on the rear after fitting the brembos? Just a thought.

calipers and discs probably wouldnt fit plus the pedal travel would almost certainly be unbearable.

Not to mention you would have a totally messed up braking bias due to the rears engaging later, the fact that theres no handbrake mechanism AND if you put much more braking effort at the rear of the car you will be driving viewing from the rear screen !

Hi guys

Finally had some time to fit mine today :D

Before
Image

After
Image

Just enough room to get your nail between the spokes and caliper
Image

Fitting went quite smoothly, the only problem i encountered was with the spacing using the shims, when i used all 3 it pulled the caliper too far in and it touched the disc, when using 2 it went too far the other way so i used 2 plus 1 of the thinner ones which were in the bag with the banjo bolts and it fitted perfectly :D
Amazingly the braking feels much sharper even with new discs and pads, although the peddel is abit spongy, i've only beld it twice so far, so i know i've still got some air in there but i'm going to put a few miles on it before doing another.

Now just to say a big thanks to Rob and Simon for putting this together :)

Cheers

Lee

That's pretty cool Lee. Glad you like them.

I would advise cycling the ABS numerous times as well as doing 50-100 miles before entertaining the bleed. :)

FWIW mine performed faultlessly in the scorching summer heat at Bedford in late June. Even with 30 degree ambients and warm expensive rubber the ABS was punished at times by the sheer braking effort available. I still never got round to a final bleed on mine either heh. :)
