rover 25 gti breaking

Post by thamestyres »

don't know if this is of any use to some of you, the car was running but the block is damaged and is mixing the oil and water in the sump it is deffo not hgf is more serious so i have decided to break it up. i have already sold the wheels and seats, i think the head is spoken for have got to check this out to confirm.
anyone wanting anything should pm me or call me at work (01753 571199) as the car is there. i am not money orientated so make me an offer and i will say yes or no. we all know what parts are worth and i'm only looking to cover the costs/enough to make it worthwhile to strip. this will need to be within two weeks any parts not sold will be left on the car and scrapped, although i have a lot of space we are having a big clearout because we are getting very cluttered.. regards ricky

By gti bubble, do you mean a 25 Gti? If so, let me know if the other person doesn't confirm and the head becomes available, I'll have it. :)

I take it this is the troublesome one you couldn't get to the bottom of? I'm sure I can muster a trip down to Slough and have a scavenge for parts off it!

it doesn't have a rear anti roll bar, but i do have a maestro axle that looks the same with an anti roll bar on, i will try to get it off and try it on the rover axle £20 plus postage if thats any good. or you could come and collect it. if you collect it in the car, we will fit it for you should only take 5mins won't cost any extra... regards ricky

A lot of connectors are very different in the 25 compared to the 200 bubble, and connectors that are the same often have very different wiring going through them in my experience.

Those codes are pretty useless without the full version of RAVE, easier if you explain what they are

they are the round two pin connectors, that connect to the radiator fan..and if the car has a/c there is a double pair of these connectors..if there is no a/c on it is a single pair of these connectors..
if i m allowed i can upload a screenshot from rave no expiry <2001 for 200 bubble..

25/ZR's don't have that, the rad fan has the wiring incorporated in to the car loom, only 200 bubble shapes and late K series Cabriolets, Coupes and Tourers would have what you need.

Typical that I read this after getting back from the scrappers, could've gotten more than you know what to do with
