214 SEi Nightfire, 3 door, good cosmetic condition

I have a 3 door 214 Sei in very good cosmetic condition but which seems to suffer from some kind of problem starting in cold weather, once running it seems OK. The ECU was checked and found to be OK.It has had new clutch, gearbox, exhaust, head done and water pump, cam belt over the last 2 or three years.

MOT due in October, taxed till 30 Sept.

£475 ono collected from Sheffield as the gearbox has only just been fitted and the exhaust was fitted this year.

24.9.11 - reduced to £350 to save us re-taxing it, we can re-tax for new owner if required

Colour is Nightfire Red. Service history back to 2006, we bought it from a one owner who retired from driving, has had a few family owners to comply with insurance.

Correction on the exhaust the back box was done last year (my 220 had a new full one this year - too many cars!)

Going for scrap at the end of this week, a shame as the bodywork is pretty much mint as is the interior and I am sure the starting problem is minor to soembody who understands these things..................but there is no room to store it off the road.

I really need all the interior from this thing! Assuming it has a black plastics not the light colour

Got any interior pics. Dash board door cards front and all the other plastics

Is there any screw holes from mobile phone holders etc

What's the best price you can do? I could even come strip it myself if you are an abingdon. I just don't really have anywhere for the car.

It is a black interior and pretty mint, 3 door don't forget.

I could get it back to Abingdon for you to strip off what you want so long as we can then get it scrapped after that. The gearbox was a Rover refurbed one bought from a bloke on here and only done 2 or 3 thousand miles if you want that as well. NB - I need the boot badge for my 220 though!

I would want to make sure I ended up with the full srap vale as a minimum so I will get a quote for that tomorrow and we could go from there.

I only need the interior. I dont think a r65 1.4 box would take to kindly to my t16

No it would't! I had a 220 box for rebuild but it has gone from my lean to shed................

Logistically it is difficult and I need to be sure I can dispose of what's left first so will get back to you

Really sorry Steve but it's not going to be worth my while in train and petrol costs to bring it down here as I will only get about £150 for it - which I can get in Sheffield for no outlay. Am happy for you to collect from Sheffield for that price if you like, tax runs out on 30th but you get a fews days grace I think.

Please let me know by midday tomorrow what you want to do, after that we will have to make arrangements to scrap it.

I'd happily save this from the scrappers but for space and the ability to get it to Manchester without tax / mot in place as my usual towing guy is rammed atm.

Update:

There is a reprieve until the MOT is due mid Oct as Chris' car is not ready so he has to re-tax this one, it will need to go before the MOT is out - will post the date when I can get it

Update - A number of people have responded both from here and the Rover 200 forum but nobody has been able to take it so far. It will be uninsured when Chris get's his new car so it has to go on Friday of this week, either to a buyer or to the scrappy.

Price is £150 which is the scrap value, plus 5 month's licence if required.

I will check here and the R200 forum tomorrow night to see if there was any final interest.

Just been re-taxed for 6 months so price is £150 plus that 5 months of that tax
