!!! Newly-discovered Racing Tomcat for Sale !!!

I have met a chap down here in Bournemouth that has one of the racing Tomcats for sale.

I have no information about it, nor can I vouch for it in any way, shape or form - HOWEVER, I am putting this message up to find out if there would be any interest in it...

I don't know any details about it, nor how much he is looking for etc - I just said that I would put a message up here to see how much interest there was - as he doesn't seem particularly au fait with the internet, and certainly knows nothing about Rovertech.

I am on the board infrequently at the moment - but will check back here over the next couple of weeks, and will see if I can get any photos on a good day...

AGAIN - I cannot vouch for car, condition or price etc - I'm just trying to spread word of the car's availability to you guys so anyone interested is aware of it's existance...

Will come back soon with more info as soon as I get it...

Hi mate it's not by bradpole road is it I live in ring wood an my inlaws live in bmth by castle point an I saw 2 about a year ago

OK,update.

Apparently it was bought off a guy called Pete Winstone about 3.5 years ago, but still to get all the info on it

It has a rollcage & fire extinguisher system as you would expect, note that the oil cooler has been moved to behind the headlight, push-button start, laptimer, and extra sets of wheels with slicks on.

Was only there for a couple of minutes, but managed to get some pics..:























Will try and get more information as soon as I can - but gives you guys an idea of the car.

If anyone is SERIOUS about this, then PM me and I can put you in touch - but my free time is very limited at the moment, so please don't be offended if I don't get back to you immediately.

thats where the rear strut brace is bolted to.

tbh ur best off just welding in a strut brace instead of the bolt in ones the rover sport cars had.

John Clarkes old car, shame its just sat outside in this poxy weather, as you can see its starting to rust away now.

Would need a full strip down and inspection before moving again I guess.

Sorry - just to clarify:

The car usually has a car cover strapped down over it - we just removed this in order to take the photos...

Bottom ends standard as far as I no the head has the work done to it! Think the valves are bigger and maybe profiled cams!

Im not sure any of that is true.

Standard cams afaik, but with solid lifters, standard valves also.

Pete winstones former car that i raced against in the barc tintops you can see the stebtek alloy throttle body bracket thing i gave him,three tomcats went to bournmouth at the same time

was this the meet u lost boost tony due to a failed actuator or something....


i also found one of those stich on roversport badges at the top of the seat in my loft the otehr day . wondered where they actually where surposed to go lol

yh the actuator was dead and something was wrong with the internal dump valve,i saw Pete at the last meeting i did last season gave me the last of his spares he had left over he had another tomcat darker blue and yellow then a black one with a damaged back the one from kent in the woods ,wheres the reshelled one last time i saw it it was going backwards done paddock hill bend http://www.snappyracers.com/album/07111 ... the alloy foot plate is missing, as far as i know that was a oe roversport engine it did have some good results back then but using a standard engine now isnt going to cut the mustard no more

Black one from woods is now racing, although was supposed to be at Mallory last weekend but wasn't. Think Steve Rowles as it?

Not seen the old Lee Fullock blue and yellow one again?

Steve rowles was racing last week as far as i know had a dnf though according to one of my friends i didnt know who he was or which car but i do now,well all three cars went to bournmouth at the same time so the owner of 16 must know where the others are.
