To be fair though it would be pretty boring if we all liked the same thing, as cliched as it sounds.

seen the latest debate?

http://www.barryboys.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=19591&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=330

be prepared for a spot of 'light reading' and watch out for posts from poor old 'tomcat' (and a few of his mates) as they get flamed for trying to convince the barry boys that rover owners aren't 'tw4ts'

the link drops you right in the thick of it. feel free to skip back to read how it all started, but it gets funnier and funnier as you read on...

Bunch of nob heads on that site. I really think they have issues with self confidence as all they do is take the tripe n onions out of other people all day.

People like that remind me why I keep my Rover

Some good posts by 'SpecialK' though whoever he/she is.

I sometimes get irritated by the current immigration issues, but then threads like dont really seem to make me mind the general public being diluted in 'quality', the country is full of home bred idiots as it is.

So amusing for somone on there to call a Coupe as aerodynamic as a brick, because it doesnt have the 'aerodynamics' of his 168mph car. People cant even fathom that aero parts are for downforce which will increase the drag, so its a better for top speed not to have the tat add-ons

I used to find it entertaining, in much the same way as a petulant child throwing a tantrum can be amusing initially.

However, it's just the same thing over and over again and IMO not worth viewing any more.

I say this in the knowledge that our resident Barryboys member and I have had lengthy and lively discussions on the subject and while he strenuously supports and justifies them, for every post he uses in their favour one can find a dozen in opposition.

As Si says, you would have to wonder about the self confidence and sense of self worth of most of the posters.

In any forum, positive and negative attitudes vie with each other and usually produce a balanced overall view.

However, the repetitive, negative, bitter, sardonic, fulminative rhetoric spewed forth in Barryboys leads me to believe that there is nothing and will be nothing of any worth on their forum.

That's why I no longer visit unless pointed to a specific thread.

I agree. Notice the distinct lack of credible retorts by some of the more outspoken Anti-Rover opinionates.

Buy that man a pint. :)

Well they often say that they actually like good modified cars, just not badly modified cars (but then they like them too cos they like taking the tripe n onions out of the bad ones). I'm sure you all know that the site founder, Clive's car is a supercharged MX5 like the monster miatas. So his is a modified car.

However, I just read a couple of pages from the point where Gareth (Hi Gar!) linked to and I see that it looks like some regular members are saying that a 220 turbo won't do anything like 150 even though that's the book figure and someone else who either had a nasp or a broken car said his would only do 130. So I am very surprised at that but I will be even more surprised if I read on and some regular member on that site doesn't disabuse them of that false belief.

So going on the few pages of what I read there from what Gareth linked to I can see why you would think "they" are twats.

I'm sorry, but that photoshop of the coupe and the bbq is the funniest thing I have seen in ages.

The BB members are like school bullies ganging up on someone to take the tripe n onions. However, they do come up with some very funny stuff sometimes

barryboys ... pah! F**k 'em.

If I had my way, that name would be added to the filtered word list and consquently replaced with something more appropriate every time someone typed it.

pigfisters would work well.
