as far as i am aware you have to get a car S.V.A'd if you want to fitted bucket seat, harnesses or a rollcage for the road to mate it road legal in the eyes of the law (onk onk)
and the seats and harnesses must be F.I.A approved.
i may be wrong that was what it was 2 years ago. havent check it recently.

may be differant in N.Ireland the mot boy here told me i needed an S.V.A certificate before they could mot the car to certify that they were fitted correctly and road worthy.Reef wrote:My friend recently installed bucket seat and 4-point harnesses. Wee joe i think he was pulloing your plonker mate. As long as the seat is secure (ie when you give it a tug about it doesnt move) and the Harness isnt of the twist off style but has a seatbelt style clip on it then it will pass. It is only the "aircraft style" twist securing that isnt MOT legal.

I mot tester and to be honest it doesnt mention harness style seat belts or how to test them, in much detail, all i would do is check mounting points and all stitchings and make sure it latches correctly, also i would look at the label stitched into it and make sure it to bsau standards, I would only fail it if it didnt meet mot standards required
