MG ZR 03 reg + Model 2.0L Turbo £4500

Post by D@VID »

Anthracite 03 Reg MGZR + 3DR with sunroof

Was originally a 1.4+ with 27K

it's a + model, so has elec windows/mirrors/sunroof and foglights

Now is a 2.0L Turbo which has covered about 3k in my car (if that) This is registered with the DVLA.
Date of First Registration 01 06 2003
Year of Manufacture 2003
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1998CC
Fuel Type Petrol

Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle
6 Months Rate £79.75
12 Months Rate £145.00
The head gasket has been changed (klinger) at the same time had 16 brand new tappets, head was skimmed and cleaned and all valves cleaned and reground in.

It has recently had piper cams and pullies fitted, The holes are cut in the outer cam cover to see this but i do have a spare if this is not to the owners taste.

It has blue samco boost hoses and standard 220 water hoses. It's got magnecore blue high performance leads. the filter is a viper induction kit. it's got a Bailey dump valve inline in the intercooler to throttlebody samco pipe. the T25 turbo is in excellent condition with minimal play with no smoke!
The intercooler is the standard 220 spec, as is the radiator(I bought this brand new) (the engine and box were from a 620ti a very different setup but has better ratio's as it was designed for a heavier car, has LSD and is a torsen box) it's also got standard 220 turbo fans which are wired in correctly into the orig ZR loom (No bodged up dash switch here, they work automatically!)

It's got 160 brakes all round has EBC Ultimax discs on the front and red stuff pads all around. The suspension is SPAX springs running on standard ZR suspension

The exhaust is custom 2.5" all the way through but has been designed with a standard 220 cat (i have a stainless decat as well) the exhaust is not noisey at all, has a lovely throaty pleasant sound.

The battery is in the boot in the well and it has a false floor which can be used for loading/shopping ect but has easy access to the battery and rear lights (for bulbs ect)

The interior has been changed for a 160 interior (black/red combo) so has lumbar and height adjustment on both sides. I have rear head rests!

It has a custom centre console which has been built to look OE and has 3 gauges oil pressure oil temp and turbo boost/vac even detailed to look nobbly like the factory item, also the arm rest was matched colour and texture at the same time. The arm rest also has now got a leather top which matches the colour of the interior. The steering wheel is the red/black leather combo to match the interior

All illumination e.g. dials, heater knobs clock have all been changed for blue. It will come with it's official MG logo mats which are secured with the provided MG clips.

The alloys are MK2 ZS 180 rims wrapped in Toys proxies T1-S's which have only covered about 1500 miles so are like brand new.

The front end is standard, but the rear end is a MK2 bumper and a MK2 lid which has been wired to a switch on the dash which can only operate with the ignition on. I also have some MK2 skirts already sprayed which will go with the car

the tax is lower because the car was not originally PLG it's an 03 reg car so was first registered under fuel emissions class.

It's difficult to post when your at work!

I'm hoping to get aroung £4500.

My car is super reliable and has been worked to look OE, I've paid attention to detail to make it look like it's meant to be their. I know when i get up on a morning it'll start on the first turn of the key and will lap up any journey it takes.

The biggest trouble i'm having is that i love it to bits, it's not that i'm selling to get something faster, or bigger my other car is an Astra 1.7TD estate, i'm seriously contenplating selling because i need some money here and now.

Yesterday i spent an hour or two just giving it a good wash and hoover out then shammy dry, my miss's comes home and is envious, a neighbours friend comes by and ask "oooh what have you done different to your car??" and all i'd done is washed it. It's little things like these that are playing havoke with my decision to sell, Especially since over at theMGZR (where i've met and know more people) are giving such wonderful comments.

That really is a top job, well done.
Must be hard to decide to sell it but I can imagine you will have any number of people wanting to buy it. ZR + T16 turbo = win and that package you've put together is spot on!

Bump this is now back up for sale :( i'm so undecisive as I love it too much! ESPECIALLY when I took it for it's MOT the other week 8)

SO it's now got a full years MOT on it, so it's got it's CAT back on at the moment (I have a stainless de-CAT as well) and it's ready to rock and roll. The car is available to view for any interested parties from sunday 2pm onwards (i'm at work sat and sun :( )

The above pics are a bit dated, the engine bay has more samco's and a different filter.
My stereo was obviously out that day as i'd just refitted the console.
The mileage does not represent what it's done as i had to replace the dials with ones from a yard to work with the speedo (I had the ford gearbox which had a weird electrical speed sensor which immated an ABS signal, so my dials were ABS model and i had to get a non-ABS model to wire to a normal speed sensor.

Theirs a few bits i have which i havn't fitted like
A leather top for my armrest
A silver metal oil cap
A TF Mirror (with map lights)
A stainless lower water pipe (the OE ones are renound for rotting, mine is good but i have a stainless one which i've not yet fitted)
